Description
6" (15 cm.) h. 7 1.2"l. An eagle and her nest of baby eaglets is displayed upon its cast iron base with well-defined ground cover and a tiny hidden yellow bear. The eagle has glass eyes and hinged wings. When the coin is placed in the eagle's beak, and lever pressed, the eagle leans forward, spreading his wings, and drops the coin into the eaglets' nest; while simultaneously the eaglets reach upward, their little mouths opening and closing. Structurally excellent with original paint albeit rubbed, mechanism functions well. Incised "Pat, Jan. 23 1883" on underside. American, circa 1883, J. & E. Stevens.
