Paper mache socket head, brown glass sleep and side-glancing flirty eyes, ochre eye shadow, painted lower lashes, mohair lashes, tiny button-shaped nose, tiny mouth with parted lips and shy smile, four teeth, brunette human hair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, one finger missing. Marks: Benjamin (and Unis France logo). Comments: SFBJ, 1930s, the model was created and made exclusively for the publishers of the children's magazine, Benjamin, and represented a little girl, Marietta; the magazine presented costume patterns for the doll and she also served as a promotional doll for Petit Bateau children's knit undergarments. Value Points: seldom-found character with absolutely charming expression, original finish, body, body finish, original costume, socks and shoes.
