12" (30 cm.) All-composition doll with socket head, sculpted short blonde curly hair, painted blue eyes with large black pupils, closed mouth, jointed arms and legs, wearing red cotton dress, undergarments, shoes and socks. Condition: near mint. Comments: Freundlich, circa 1925, representing Little Orphan Annie based on the popular American comic strip by Harold Gray which debuted in the mid-1920s. Value Points: the beloved American comic strip character is well-represented, along with her beloved dog, Sandy.
