17" (43 cm.) Celluloid swivel head on celluloid shoulder plate, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth with accent line between the smiling lips, unpierced ears, ash-blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with shapely firmly-stuffed arms and legs, separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872. This smiling poupee model was deposed in that year. Value Points: very rare variation of the beloved model, with original body and wearing original costume, undergarments, jewelry. Ex-collection Maureen Popp.
