Description
4" (10 cm.) doll. 9" x 9" box. Presented within a window-front presentation box with decorative paper covers and gilt edging are two ebony-complexioned all-bisque dolls with glass sleep eyes, closed mouth, black fleecy hair, jointed arms and legs, painted stockings and shoes; along with a set of wooden furnishings with stenciled decorations to simulate carving, and maroon silk upholstery to match their silk costumes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: dolls by Gebruder Kuhnlenz, circa 1890, presentation box for the French market. Value Points: fine state of preservation of the menage, with two rare black dolls.
