20" (51 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, unusual neck articulation allowing head to tilt side to side and forward as well as swivel, rich cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, very plump cheeks, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid lady body with gusset jointing, stitched and separated fingers, wearing gorgeous rose sateen and cream crepe de chine gown with lace trim and rose silk ribbons, matching bonnet, undergarments, kid boots. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1867, with realistic articulation of the head based upon system deposed by Dehors. Value Points: rare model with superb bisque and expression that enhances the endearing poses she can achieve, lovely antique costume.
