Description

16" (41 cm.) Bisque head doll with blue glass eyes, open mouth, teeth, painted facial features, is posed upon a red velvet covered platform, wearing silk and velvet costume. He holds a tortoise shell and mother-of-pearl violin that he strums when the lever is wound. He turns his head and music plays, also. Condition: faint hairline on forehead, mechanism functions well except a bit of grinding sound, velvet on base is faded. Marks: F.G. (in scroll) 5 (on head). Comments: Roullet et Decamps, circa 1895.
