Description
7" (18 cm.) doll. 11" case. Paper mache head with gofun finish, enamel eyes, closed mouth, black human hair wig, paper wrapped torso, paper mache hands and feet, wearing fine antique kimono and parasol, and presented in original wooden case. Generally excellent. Japan, early 20th century. The doll was presented to Shirley Temple by a group of visiting Japanese children at a luncheon party. A photograph of Shirley with the school children and the doll is included.
