18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, shaded and outlined pale lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish albeit hands have early light retouch. Marks: 8 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1880, early portrait bebe by the illustrious firm. Value Points: endearing shy expression found only on the early bebes by Jumeau is well-achieved here, the bebe wearing early bronze silk dress with lace trim, undergarments, silk bonnet, leather shoes signed "Bebe Jumeau Depose".
