22" (56 cm.) Arranged upon a velvet-covered wooden base is a bisque-head bebe standing behind a wooden toilette table upon which is arranged a bounty of toilette articles; the bebe has blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, open mouth, six tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms, and is wearing ivory satin dress with applique lace and red satin bows, undergarments, shoes, and a wide-brimmed red satin bonnet. When wound, the doll turns her head side to side and then upright, while she alternately powders her nose and lifts her hand mirror to gaze at her reflection. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: L.B. (key) (and original paper music tune label on base). Comments: Leopold Lambert, with bisque head by Emile Jumeau, circa 1890. Value Points: very elegant and luxurious automaton which functions beautifully and has strong musical tunes.
