Description
26" (66 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden body with straight wrists, pretty antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, some body retouch. Marks: Depose E 12 J (incised on head, and artist red checkmarks) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1884. Value Points: dramatic eyes beautifully contrast the flawless bisque with delicate blush.
