Description
14" (36 cm.) Wax-over-paper mache shoulder head with enamel sleep eyes, painted black curly details of hair, mohair wig in tight curls, composition lower torso, hands and feet, wooden lower limbs, fabric wrapped midriff and upper arms and legs, bellows torso with non-functioning "mama" crier. Condition: complexion faded, some craquelure. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1865. Value Points: the early model of child doll has original body, wig, costume, and is resting in wooden cradle with original very worn decorations.
