14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted features, closed mouth with hint of smile, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, cork pate, original body with carton upper torso, muslin lower torso and legs, kid arms, original (very frail) costume that is actually tacked to the doll torso (the earliest models of Bru poupees) comprising white wool dress with black lace and braid, bonnet, undergarments. Condition: bisque excellent, body and costume worn. Marks: C. Comments: Leon Casmir Bru, his earliest model smiling doll, circa 1865.
