16" (41 cm.) Terra cotta sculpted head of woman with sculpted deeply-combmarked brown hair drawn from her face into coiled curls, enamel eyes with heavy eyelids, feathered brows, strong nose, closed mouth with enigmatic smile, hemp-wrapped body with terra cotta hands and lower legs, painted blue stockings with blue slippers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, early 1800s. Value Points: very fine sculpting, the lady wears fine silk costume with laced vest and embroidered apron.
