Bisque Doll, Model 1079, for the French Market of Au Nain Bleu, Original Store Label

15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass eyes, painted lower lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, blonde mohair wig, pierced ears, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SH 1079 dep 6 1/2 (head) Au Nain Bleu (original paper label on torso). Comments: circa 1900, the doll was presented at the prestige Parisien doll store of Au Nain Bleu wearing early folklore costume of Brittany (included), and still wears her original matching undergarments, socks and black leather shoes with pom-poms with impressed mark of Alart.
