Description

8" (20 cm.) Seated upon an early tricycle with large spoked wheels is a bisque-headed boy with black painted hair and facial features. He holds the handles firmly and his jointed legs and feet with painted boots rest upon the pedals. When wound, he "pedals" briskly while the tricycle moves forward and in circles; his arm jointing and seat attachment allow his arms to move and body to bounce in a manner that adds to the realism. Condition: generally excellent, original costume albeit silk a bit frail, mechanism functions well. Comments: Vichy, circa 1860.
