Description
13" (33 cm.) Standing upon a wooden platform is a white fur-covered paper mache kitten with amber glass eyes and pink nose, behind a wooden shoe form which holds a boot ready for re-soling. The kitten holds a wooden hammer, and when wound, he nods his head up and down and vigorously taps the shoe. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: R.D. (key) Decamps France (original paper label). Comments: Roullet et Decamps, circa 1910, the firm presented a series of these amusing occupational kitten automata. Value Points: pristine condition, with original paper label, and well-functioning.
