Description
14" (36 cm.) (excluding base). Carved wooden head with gofun finish, very narrow enamel inset eyes, painted features including imperial dots, slightly open mouth, elaborate silk fiber wig with painted feathering of hair around the sides of face, carved wooden hands and feet. Condition: generally excellent albeit outer kimono is faded. Comments: Japanese, known as Kyoto-Bijan, early 1900s. Value Points: the fashionable lady wears three-layered silk crepe kimonos with lavish design, silk crepe and brocade obis, and has elaborate coiffure with ornaments, on wooden base.
