9.5" monkey standing. A painted metal base designed as a performance platform has a hidden slitted top upon which a cast metal monkey with jointing at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees is standing. When a knob at the front is turned, it causes the monkey to perform a series of tumbling, somersaults, and other acrobatic tricks. Excellent condition. Circa 1875.
