8"l. A tinplate Chinese toy with painted costume is pulling a lady in long painted yellow gown seated in a rickshaw. She holds a red tin fan in her right arm and when mechanism is wound, the cart propels forward, the boy appears to be walking as legs move alternately forward and back, and the lady nods her head and waves her fan. Mechanism functions well, paint flaking but original. Possibly Fernand Martin, French, circa 1889, inspired by the International Exposition in Paris.
