The carved figure of reclining nude woman is posed with right hand resting on her elaborately carved hair, and left hand modestly holding a book at her torso; the figures rests on original fitted wooden base. Excellent condition. Chinese, according to legend the figure was used by woman to modestly point out medical concerns on their body. Late 1800s.
