Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,pale blue glass enamel inset eyes with darker blue outer rims,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes,rose-blushed eye shadow,feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows,hips and knees,stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9 (head and shoulders) F.G. (shoulders). Comments: Gaultier,circa 1875. Value Points: luxury size,the poupee has finest quality bisque and painting to match,original wig,wearing original woolen and silk traditional costume of Normandy with ruffled coiffe,and owns additional costumes: rose silk and lace gown with crystal decorations and matching woven bonnet,rose kidskin boots; blue and aqua silk gown with woven straw bonnet with blue silk streamers and blue kidskin boots; and original fancy chemise with red silk ribbons,red silk trimmed night cap,and silk corset with red and cream cord lacings.
