German Bisque Character Toddler by Kestner, Rare Shoulderhead Variation

12" (30 cm.) Solid domed bisque shoulderhead, painted baby hair in delicate brushstroke, brown glass eyes, pained curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth modeled as though open, shaded lips, kid toddler body with short legs, pin-jointing at shoulder, elbows and hips, gusset-jointing at knees, bisque lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: G made in Germany 2 (head) (original crown and streamer paper label on chest). Comments: Kestner, circa 1910. Value Points: rare variation with shoulderhead and unique body in superb original condition, wonderful antique jacket and matching woven cap.
