Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, pale blue glass inset eyes with dark iris rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, pierced ears, wooden poupee body with jointed bisque lower arms and hands, kid lower legs, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, right forefinger and left fingers have overpaint. Marks: 3 (head) E. 3 B (front shoulderplate). Comments: French, Barrois, circa 1867. Value Points: fine quality bisque, rare wooden body with especially fine sculpting of hands, antique gentleman's formal wear costume, leather shoes signed C.C. Private collection Linda Kellermann.
