Description
24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head, large dark blue glass paperweight inset eyes with pronounced dark blue iris rims and large pupils, rose-blushed eye shadow, painted lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips upturned at the corners, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig in elaborate coiffure over cork pate, French composition lady body with very shapely elongated torso, long slender arms and legs with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 12 T (head) La Patricienne Depose (body). Comments: Andre Thuillier, circa 1885, on the deposed lady body of the Steiner successor firm, although an unusual variation, the head and body style are appropriate and may be original to the era. Value Points: very beautiful model with finest bisque and painting, dramatic eyes, sensuous painting of lips, original finish on the rare body, superb fashionable lady costume.
