8" (20 cm.) The heavy porcelain figurine depicts a young child seated on the edge of a cradle, holding a toy in her hand, while bonneted mother leans caringly over her as though the child is about to tumble over. The costumes, furnishings, and accessories have extraordinary detail of modeling, including a toy Polichinelle and drum which have fallen to the floor on the back side. With blue Meissen mark. Excellent condition. Germany, mid-1800s.
