All-cloth doll with firmly-pressed and oil-painted complexion, hair and facial features, black painted short hair, brown eyes, closed mouth, muslin stitch-jointed body, oil-painted lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Martha Chase, early 1900s, the doll was likely presented as a promotional model; included is a red and white checkered dress, apron and bandana with the oral history that the doll once sat in the window of a peanut factory in Georgia. Value Points: wonderful doll with original complexion and painting, wearing antique woolen boy's suit, stockings, leather shoes.
