Description
3" (8 cm.) h. The gilt metal and ormolu frame with beaded design is decorated with a flower and leaves at each corner and surmounted by a design of the royal crown. The frame encloses a sepia photograph of the Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth ("Sissi") who ruled over Vienna during much of the second half of the 1800s. The ballspenden was likely a favor presented to ladies at a prominent Viennese ball of the era. Near mint condition. Vienna,1875.
