Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with dark glass eyes, closed mouth, painted features, attached to hollow cardboard torso which is covered with white pique taufling and trimmed with lace and blue silk ribbons, with matching bonnet and with pique bib lettered "Andre" in gilt embroidery. The torso separates at the midriff for use as a candy container. The doll head is marked F.G. by Gaultier. Excellent condition. French, circa 1890, commissioned by luxury Parisian candy shop.
