Description
24" (61 cm.) Wax over paper mache shoulder head, blue glass sleep eyes, painted features, open mouth, two square cut upper teeth and two lower, long mohair wig, twill body with paper mache lower torso, and lower arms and legs, nice antique costume. Condition: very good, original finish albeit craquelure to wax. Comments: Germany, circa 1865. Value Points: the body has unusual construction with two protruding wooden buttons in torso which, when pushed, causes the doll to emit a vigorous cry.
