24" (61 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with heart-shaped upper lip, outlined lips, dimpled chin and philtrum, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque lower arms and hands. Condition: professional restoration at right back of head and ear, shoulderplate and hands perfect, original sturdy body. Marks: Bru Jne (head) 8 (shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1882. Value Points: especially beautiful bebe with dreamy expression, very fine bisque and painting, lovely silk costume in the 1880 manner, antique leather shoes and silk bonnet, undergarments.
