11" (28 cm.) All-felt doll depicting a plump-bodied character, swivel head,amber-tinted complexion, modeled closed eyes with long painted lashes, high comma-shaped brows, closed mouth with original hole in center for pipe stem, black mohair wig pulled tightly from face and forming into a long queue at the back and with green, black and yellow felt cap that is attached, ball-shaped plump stomach on short legs, jointed arms. Condition: fair/good, dusty overall, few moth holes. Comments: Lenci, circa 1921, the doll was identified in Lenci advertisement in 1922 Playthings magazine as their "trademark" doll. Value Points: rare early model in original costume, with original opium pipe.
