9" (23 cm.) Felt doll with oval slender face and elongated throat, brown painted eyes with dark eyeshadow, single-stroke brows, red lips, jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1920, the doll portrays the silent film actress, Pola Negri, who immigrated to Hollywood from Poland and Berlin to become a small Hollywood actress. Value Points: pristine condition, wearing original lace costume, from the original owner who was herself a pledging Hollywood actress in the 1940s and winner of a Miss Hollywood contest (photo of her included).
