Early French Maitrise Model Slant-Front Desk and Paris Clock

10" (25 cm.) Wooden slant-front desk with burled rosewood veneers and inlay striping, has two wide dove-tailed drawers, two pencil drawers, pull-out supports for desk surface and well-fitted interior including unusual lidded hole, with brass knobs and cast keyhole. Included is a fine gilded metal clock labeled "Paris". Excellent conditon. French, circa 1875, the quality and fine woods indicate maitrise quality of construction.
