20" (51 cm.) Carved wooden shoulder head with plump rounded face, brown painted hair with forehead curls, deeply sculpted large blue shaded eyes with dark outline fringed brows, rounded pug nose, closed mouth, pertly shaped chin, muslin body and arms, carved wooden lower legs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, muslin re-covered. Comments: American, mid-1800s. Value Points: most endearing folk art doll has intriguing legs, one leg with carved bare foot, the other with carved blue stockings and black shoe with very well-defined sculpting and with original finish; included is a little book "Jane Hall The Honest Girl".
