Description
9" (23 cm.) Seated upon a three-wheeled tinplate velocipede with soft metal spoked wheels and an attached bell is a bisque-head doll with blue glass eyes, painted features, closed mouth, brunette hair over sculpted wig, carton body, metal upper arms, metal hands. The doll holds metal mallets in her hands, and when wound, the velocipede removes around and forward, and she taps the bell at the front. Condition: generally excellent, original costume frail. Marks: G. Vichy Fils Paris. Comments: Vichy, circa 1865. Value Points: rare early toy with unusual bell action, original costume.
