14" (36 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, very plump cheeks, brilliant blue enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, mauve-blushed eye shadow, painted lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with square-cut collarette, gusset jointing at hips and knees, bisque forearms with well-defined fingers, pretty antique dress, undergarments, ruffled lace cap, leather boots. Condition: generally excellent, left thumbs restored. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1880, the first model of his premiere bebe. Value Points: the very endearing gentle features are enhanced by absolutely splendid eyes, original sturdy body.
