6" (15 cm.) All-bisque figure of devilish jester with sculpted theatrical costume including horned headdress and blue tunic with gilt-edged collar and gold buttons, purple shorts, white tights and black shoes. With painted facial features including mustache, peg-jointing at shoulders and hips, and with hands designed to clasp strings for theatrical dancing presentation. Condition: upper left hand has possible restoration, otherwise excellent. Comments: for the French market, mid-1800s. Value Points: very rare character with superior intricate sculpting and painting, vibrant costume.
