6 1/2" (17 cm.) h. The fine mahogany dresser-top box has shaped top,single drawer with dove-tailed construction,little ball feet,and matching brackets which support a panel having carved bone which encircles a round brass frame with fabric center; the brackets have brass knobs for adjustment to various angles,and there are further carved bone and brass decorations on the top and sides of the box. Excellent condition. Mid-19th century,superb quality of cabinetry and carving.
