19" (48 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of slender-faced woman with oval face and elongated throat, uptilted head, brown glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, heavily-modeled eye lids, painted lower lashes, accented eye corners and nostrils of aquiline nose, brunette mohair upswept hair over plaster pate, kid body with pin-jointed limbs, bisque forearms, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 172 .5 made in Germany. Comments: Kestner, circa 1910, designed from the original illustrations of the American artist, Charles Dana Gibson. Value Points: unique model with distinctive portraiture, fine quality of bisque.
