18" (46 cm.) Standing upon a velvet-covered base is a bisque-head doll with blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,rose-blushed eye shadow,brush-stroked brows,closed mouth with richly-shaded lips,pierced ears,brunette human hair over cork pate,carton torso and legs,wire upper arms,bisque forearms,wearing silk and organza costume of young Marquis. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau 3 (and artist checkmarks on head) L.B. (key). Comments: Leopold Lambert,circa 1890,when wound and lever released,music plays,his head turns,and he lifts the nosegay held in his right hand,while a butterfly in the basket of flowers flits to and fro. Value Points: very fine quality of bisque and painting,charming activity with flitting butterfly,original tune label on base.
