14" (36 cm.) Created of fine porcelain in the lavish Rococo style,the cabinet features elaborately-carved legs and brackets,beautifully-curved cabinet walls and table front,and is decorated with hand-painted Romantic-style scenes of a man and woman and country views at the lake. There is an opening drawer and the cabinet doors open with gilt cast bronze handles and have fancy gilt bronze hinges. Gilt-edged turquoise and rose borders and accents give final touches. There is an imperceptible professional restoration at two leg joints,otherwise excellent. French or Viennese,circa 1875,an extraordinary cabinet of maitrise quality.
