7" (18 cm.) Of intricately-woven gilt metal in the shape of a bird's nest resting in a bower of twigs that are decorated with green-enamel metal leaves, the nest enclosing a fitted opaline glass egg with brass frame which hinges open to reveal gilt sewing tools in a fitted ensemble, comprising scissors, thimble, awl and needle case. Excellent condition. French, circa 1870.
