20" (51 cm.) (excluding hats). Each has solid domed paper mache head with tinted hair, well-defined sculpting of facial features, narrow eyes with thick black eyeliner in deeply set sockets, one-stroke brows, closed mouth, muslin stitch-jointed body, wooden lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese, late 1800s. Value Points: rare large size, each wearing elaborate embroidered costume and hat, with glued on embroidered slippers, original patterned cotton pants.
