The firm-sided leather case is decorated with embossed brass corners and carved bone designs,and hinges open to reveal red leather lined interior with many compartments,containing entirely original contents including carved bone writing and stationery tools,two glass inkwells with bone lids,and a red leather match safe with gold lettering "feu". Designed as a travel set for real people,the case is,nevertheless,perfectly sized for display with French poupees,and is perfectly preserved. French,circa 1875.
