17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight eyes, dark eyeliner, rose-blushed eyeshadow, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with dainty pale lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig with long braid, kid gusset-jointed torso and legs, Clement blown leather arms. Condition: generally excellent, some retouch on arms. Marks: 3 (head and shoulderplate) Au Bengal (stamp on front torso). Comments: French, circa 1867, the doll was presented by the illustrious Paris doll shop, Au Bengal, of Madame Fialont. Value Points: the beautiful doll is wearing wonderful antique silk and velvet gown, undergarments, leather boots, and is presented in antique trunk with paper label, containing various undergarments, burgundy pressed felt bonnet and parasol, black lace shawl, beaded purse, leather purse, leather gloves, Petit Almananch 1869, blue silk corset, folding fan, and two folios containing an assortment of miniature sketches.
