Description
9" (23 cm.) and 5". One-piece standing bisque Kewpie with loop-jointed arms, classic forelock, topknot, blue wings, and side glancing googly eyes, and with original painted spectacles, incised "O'Neill" on feet. With seated Kewpie in famous "Thinker" pose, inspired by Rodin sculpture, marked "Rose O'Neill Kewpie Germany". Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1915, from original design by Rose O'Neill.
