Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass inset eyes, delicately painted lashes and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips,blonde mohair wig over cork pate, pierced ears, stretched kid-over-wooden body with shapely torso, dowel-jointing at hips, knees, elbows and shoulders, bisque arms below the elbows. Condition: generally excellent, right hand has some restoration. Marks: Passage Delorme Simonne Paris Rue de Rivoli (stamp on torso). Comments: the doll was commissioned by the exclusive Paris doll store of Maison Simonne, circa 1870. Value Points: beautiful poupee with gentle expression, rare wooden body with bisque hands, wearing original muslin gown, undergarments, shoes, and having Simonne body stamp.
