Description
10" (25 cm.) (excluding headpieces). Each has carved wooden head with painted complexion, hair and facial features, carved wooden lower arms and legs with painted theatrical shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese, early 1900s, the dolls were designed to represent various characters of the Chinese opera, thus appearing with various complexion tones and levels of costume intricacy. Value Points: outstanding detail of costumes including bird and dragon embroidery, elaborate head dresses.
