15" (38 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with perfectly oval face, well-defined aquiline nose, almond-shaped cobalt blue eyes, painted lashes, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, kid arms to above the elbows, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E 2 Depose B. Comments: French, circa 1860, Barrois, an identical portrait model is shown in The Encyclopedia of French Dolls, page 51. Value Points: very beautiful poupee with distinctive facial modeling and lovely bisque and painting.
